Hello, my name is Heather Boyd and I am a wire artist. have a Fine Art Degree from the University of Guelph with a minor in Consumer Studies and Design. In 1989 I and gave up a stressful Artistic Director job in Toronto to become a starving artist and street vendor in Montreal. I sold my hand-painted buttons to tourists and morphed into jewelry design. My work evolved and for many years I sold at Art shows and to boutiques. Notable clients included The National Gallery of Canada, Musée des Beaux Art in Montreal and the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto.
I currently am represented by the Viva Vida Art Gallery in Montreal in the west island of Montreal. The gallery carries my jewelry and bookmarks and also a line of mixed media wire and watercolour work.
Over the years I have offered craft and jewelry workshops in schools and libraries and teach Mixed Media Art and Jewelry Making at the Viva Vida Art Gallery.
I create DIY wire art and jewelry making tutorials on YouTube and host a thriving community of creatives in my Wire Makers Club on Facebook.
My husband and I create and sell custom wire art and jewelry on Etsy. We specialize in wire wedding cake toppers including tandem bikes, musicians and sports figures. I am always open to new ideas and welcome special requests and custom orders.
